Health and Hygiene
Sunday, July 10, 2016
Health is the condition of our body and mind. Good health means healthy body free from diseases. Good health is freedom from disease and sickness. Without good health, we cannot do any work and we cannot improve in life. So, good health is the primary need for every one of us. It is essential for everyone to lead a happy life. If we are not in good health, we cannot concentrate on any activity in our life. There is a proverb – “Health is Wealth”. It means good health is equally valuable as any other personal possessions. We may have vast property. But lack of good health will deprive us of enjoying it. To keep our health well, we should abide by the laws of hygiene. Food, exercise, rest and sleep, regular habits, neatness and cleanliness, air and light, punctuality and peace of mind are the primary conditions for good health. Hence, we should eat healthy food and take a balance diet. We should eat all kinds of food at an equal amount. Taking excess of a single type of food may also cause various problems. Every day we should take exercise in morning and evening. We should be regular in all our daily duties. We should be neat and clean. Dirty and unclean surroundings create an adverse effect on our mind. So it is our duty to keep our surroundings and dwelling areas neat and clean. We should let fresh air and light into our houses. We should be punctual in all our daily duties. Peace of mind is another condition for good health. So, we should not worry over small things of life. Labour must be followed by rest. There is an old saying-"Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise" So we must not keep late hours. We should go to bed early at night and rise early in the. It is true that health is the best wealth. But it is a matter of fact that most of us do not realize it. Hence they are falling prey to many kinds of disease. Thus proper food and hygiene in our daily life can lead to a lifetime habit towards a healthy extended life.
